Cross-platform mobile apps built with Xamarin and .NET MAUI for aerospace manufacturing, restaurants, field service, construction finance, retail, IoT and social media.
Over the years I’ve built nearly 60 mobile applications with Xamarin and .NET MAUI. Many of them connect to existing business systems, hardware or cloud services, so the work is often as much about integration and architecture as the app itself. Here’s a selection.
Client work
Major aerospace manufacturer: aircraft quality control Rebuilt the application a leading commercial aircraft manufacturer uses to record defects during aircraft production, in .NET MAUI with MVVM. It combines advanced camera controls, computer vision, Bluetooth Low Energy and offline SQLite storage for use on the factory floor.
Focus Brands: restaurant apps Maintained the Xamarin native apps for three restaurant brands, adding mobile marketing features and Apple Pay and Google Pay. The apps use Firebase, Kochava, geolocation and maps.
Civic Site Service: elevator maintenance Designed and built a field-service app for elevator mechanics. Dispatch builds each mechanic’s route, and the app captures completed work and submits proof of service for billing.
BuildEz: construction lending A Xamarin.Forms app for construction lenders that lets contractors process invoices and lien waivers, backed by Azure SQL and geolocation.
SynApp: refrigerated trucks A maintenance app for refrigerated trucks that talks to custom BLE beacons, built with Xamarin.Forms and native Java and Swift bindings.
InnerMonk: streaming services Designed a social app with real-time streaming video for religious services, using Xamarin.Forms, SignalR, VideoLAN and geolocation.
ITI: heavy equipment training Updated a Xamarin native app that creates social-media-ready images of students learning to operate heavy equipment.
My own companies and apps
420 Tech: cannabis retail A company I owned. I designed and built its retail management system for the cannabis industry using Xamarin, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and Azure. The work led to eight related patent filings.
VisibleBrands: in-store advertising Another company I owned. Its IoT platform tracks shopping carts and baskets in real time using BLE, and serves in-store advertising based on how shoppers move and what’s in their cart. Built with Xamarin.Forms and Azure web services.
GigBoard A digital community bulletin board where people post gigs they need done or are offering to do. Released on iOS, Android, Windows and Mac with .NET MAUI, with a Blazor and Azure backend.
Crafter A .NET MAUI inventory app for craft and DIY supplies, stored locally in SQLite. Generative AI lets you ask what you can make from the supplies you already have and suggests projects.
PoshPups A .NET MAUI companion app for a family e-commerce business that sells clothing for small dogs. Customers share photos of their pets wearing PoshPups designs.
